The Kiltwalk!

The Kiltwalk!

A week ago today, Jamie and I participated in the Edinburgh Kiltwalk to raise funds for the SAMH charity. We walked 26 long Miles around the city centre and pushed ourselves so hard! šŸ™‚

We woke up super early for a Sunday, around 6:30am and started our trip to Edinburgh. Ofcourse, we were all kitted out with our Kiltwalk badge and SAMH t-shirt.

We arrived at Murrayfield about 8:30am which gave us half an hour to get prepared, fed, watered etc.. before starting the journey. I was so excited and the place was packed with people also doing the Marathon walk.

We started off strong, and with a good pace. But as the miles came I started to get tired and my groin was in pain. I pushed through however. I am really sorry but I didn’t take as many photos as I has planned to on our long walk. Here are a few I did take during some of the pitstops šŸ™‚ :

It was a mental battle more than anything for me. I felt sore at around 11 miles and needed Jad to keep me going, however when we reached the 9Miles to go sign it was like I had a new lease of life. I walked my fastest mile then and didn’t stop once. I knew I was nearing the end! Jamie started to tired at the last 4 Miles and I kept him pushing!

Finally, we reached the finish line!!!

We were greeted with our medals and some well deserved fatty food!

We stuck around for a bit to meet our pals who were also doing the walk. They finished about an hour/hourandahalf after us and, like us, were buzzing at what we had all achieved!

Eventually it was time for Jamie and I to go home. Jamie was daft had didn’t stretch before sitting haha, so please watch these videos of him struggling šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ā€‹ā€‹

Hahahah it really wasn hilarious seeing him struggle!! But we had an amazing day. And raised over Ā£200!

I used my fitbit watch during the walk which was great to show your steps, timings and pace :

I would defo think about doing another Marathon, maybe even another Kiltwalk next year! šŸ’™šŸ™‚
