It’s finally here! I have been blogging for one whole year. The year has completely flown in and I cannot believe we are already halfway through January 2018!
First things first: I happen to share my blogging birthday with my gorgeous niece Rhian. So I wanted to wish her a massive HAPPY 4th BIRTHDAY live from this post. Love you Rhi-pie! 💙
Yes. It’s PARTY TIME! 👍🏼 This is my first ever Blog Party so I hope you all interact and find some new blogging face in the mix of the comments!

HAVE FUN AND GET YOUR BLOGGING FRIENDS INVOLVED TOO! 😍
Now it’s time for the Q&A part of the post. If you sent a question through over the past week them thank you very much! If you feel like you have any more questions after today then don’t be shy .. ask away!
Janelle – What was the hardest thing about going self-hosting and how did you overcome it? – The thing that held me back so long was believing that my audience wasn’t big enough but I felt it was the best way to help it grow. I felt that I put more effort into promoting it since it was truly mine!
Liz – What was your favourite post to write/publish and why? – This is a tricky one! I love all my travel posts because when I read them back I get all excited about my upcoming trips. I’m heading to Berlin and Amsterdam soon so I can hopefully produce another few posts about my adventures abroad!
Brenda – What’s the biggest take away from starting your blog? – The Blogging Community and all the friends I have made through it! I am part of some blog groups and have made some close relationships, particularly with my fellow Scottish bloggers!
Why did you start your blog? – I started my blog last year to help me stick to my New Years Resolution of travelling more! It definitely motivated me to take me pictures on my travels and not be as scared to try/see new things.
What are the future plans for your blog?– I’m hoping to grow my audience and hit the 1000 mark. I have also set up social media accounts in order to be inspired and meet new bloggers. And eventually when I’m Miss Popular I would love to have a successful Youtube Channel – a girl can dream!
Kirsty – How did you choose your blog name? – This was pretty simple really. Originally I wanted to focus my blog solely on my adventures and trips around Scotland and outwith, hence the name Adventures with Amanda. Eventually I ended up blogging about my wedding and life in general!
Alan Watters – How did I feel losing out in the Car Quiz Championships?– This is my wonderful brother in law Alan haha he has not let me live down the recent defeat during our car quiz haha! I felt dreadful Alan, truly annoyed but .. I couldn’t of lost to a better guy! 💙
Hayleigh – Top 5 Places to visit in Scotland?– There are so many!! I love Glasgow, it’s my closest city and there is nowhere quite like it anywhere else in the world. Edinburgh is another beautiful city, I especially recommend visiting Arthur’s Seat. I love the West Coast of Scotland too; I got married in a hotel on the beach (The Waterside – West Kilbride) so defo head there for some food. Loch Lomond is the most stunning part of Scotland in my opinion, I am hoping to spend a lot of time there soon to climb the Munros. And … Arran. The island is stunning!
What is your favourite tattoo? – I honestly have sooooo many! But my favourite would have to be my Morse Code one on my collar bone, it says my nieces name! My favourite character on my leg is Woody though, he is incredible!!
What is your next tattoo? – The Disney leg is almost complete so the next part will be more colour! Next characters to get coloured in will he Sher-Khan, Jafar and Patch (101 Dalmations). I think I may write a full post about my tattoos as they have a growing admiration. 😂💙
What is your favourite way to relax or take part in some self care?– I love getting home from work on a Friday, cleaning the full house (it distresses me), shower, shove on some fluffy jammies and binge on Corrie, rubbish tele and Youtube! Best time ever!
What is your favourite book?– My favourite author is Irvine Welsh so anything by him, Trainspotting is my fave! But my ultimate favourite book is called After You’d Gone by Maggie O’Farrell – I studied it at school and just loved the way it was written!
What is your favourite recipe?– I am a terrible cook of anything other than bogstandard meals, but Jamie is a whiz and watches a bunch of Youtube tutorials. My favourite is his lasagne, aka JADSAGNE and his take on the Big Mac!
Phaytea – How did you tell your family about your blog? – I’m not sure really, I brought it up in conversation before I started it and they loved the idea.
**Please share post if you were featured. 💙
